Privacy Policy

Mazarion ("we", "us") provides tools for self-discovery based on astrology and personality frameworks, available at mazarion.com and through our mobile apps. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and the rights you have over it.

What we collect

• Account data — your email address, display name, and password (stored by Firebase Authentication; we never see your password). If you sign in with Google, we receive your name and email from Google.
• Birth details— the birth date, time, and location you enter to generate your natal chart, forecasts, and transits. When you use location search, the city query and your IP address are processed by OpenStreetMap's Nominatim service; you can instead enter coordinates and a confirmed UTC offset manually.
• Assessment results — your answers and results for the personality assessments you take (Enneagram, archetypes, attachment style, love languages, MBTI).
• Journal entries — text you write in the journal. Entries are encrypted on your device before local storage or cloud sync. The journal opens automatically by default. You may optionally enable a separate journal passphrase or a device passkey using Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint, or device PIN. We do not receive the passphrase, passkey private material, or decrypted journal key.
• Compatibility inputs — details you enter about another person (such as their birth date) to run a compatibility reading. Please only enter information you are entitled to share.
• Referral data — your referral code, and which accounts signed up through your invite link.
• Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, managed through RevenueCat. Payments are processed by Stripe (web) or Google Play / Apple (apps); we never see or store your card details.
• Usage and marketing data— with your consent, our analytics and advertising partners collect device information, approximate location, and how you interact with the site and our ads (see "Analytics and advertising" below).
• Assistant messages— when you choose to use Mazarion Guide, your message, recent chat context, and the name of the section you are viewing are sent to Google's Gemini API to generate a reply. We do not send your journal entries, birth details, assessment answers, profile results, or account data to the assistant.

We do not sell your personal data.

Analytics and advertising

We use Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager to understand how the service is used, and Google Ads, Meta (Facebook) Pixel, and TikTok Pixel to measure our advertising and reach people who may be interested in Mazarion. These tools set cookies or similar identifiers and share interaction data (such as pages visited, device information, and ad clicks) with Google, Meta, and TikTok, who may combine it with other data they hold and process it in countries outside the EU (including the US) under safeguards such as the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses.

These tools are loaded only after you consent, which we request via the cookie banner and which you can withdraw at any time. Your birth details, assessment results, and journal entries are never shared with advertising partners. You can additionally opt out via Google Analytics opt-out, Meta ad preferences, and TikTok privacy settings.

How we use your data

Your data is used to provide the service: generating your charts, forecasts, and reports, syncing them across your devices, crediting referrals, and managing your subscription — and, with your consent, for analytics and advertising as described below. If you use Mazarion Guide, we also process the text you submit to provide that requested feature. The legal bases under the GDPR are performance of our contract with you (Art. 6(1)(b)), our legitimate interest in operating and securing the service (Art. 6(1)(f)), and your consent for analytics and advertising (Art. 6(1)(a)), which you may withdraw at any time.

Where your data lives

Your data is stored in Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) in the European Union (Firestore multi-region: eur3). Some data is also cached locally on your device so the app works offline. Journal content is stored locally and in Firestore only as ciphertext after private-journal setup; limited metadata such as encryption version and update time is not encrypted. Our processors are Google (Firebase and the optional Gemini assistant), RevenueCat (subscription management), Stripe (payment processing), each under their own GDPR-compliant data processing terms, and OpenStreetMap for optional location lookup — plus, with your consent, the analytics and advertising partners listed below.

Connecting with friends

If you choose to connect with a friend for compatibility readings, you each consent to sharing a limited profile snapshot: your display name, computed chart placements, and personality assessment result types (such as your Enneagram type). Your email, birth date, time, and location are never shared. Connections are made only through private invite links you send yourself — there is no user search. Either person can disconnect at any time from their profile, which permanently removes the shared snapshot from both accounts.

How long we keep it

For as long as you have an account. Deleting your account (Profile → Danger Zone → Delete Account) permanently removes your account and all data described above. Payment records are retained by our payment processors as required by law. Mazarion Guide conversations are kept in the current app session and are not saved to your Firestore profile by Mazarion; Google may process API requests under its applicable terms.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, deletion of, or a portable copy of your personal data, and you may object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise deletion yourself in-app at any time. For anything else, contact us at hello@mazarion.com. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.

Cookies and local storage

Essential storage (always on): your sign-in session, theme preference, locally cached results, and a pending referral code if you arrived through an invite link.

Analytics and advertising cookies (consent-based): set by Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Ads, Meta Pixel, and TikTok Pixel as described above. You can accept or decline these in the cookie banner and change your choice at any time.

Manage cookie preferences — reopens the consent banner so you can change your choice.

Children

Mazarion is not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect data from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we make material changes to this policy, we will update this page and the date above. Continued use of Mazarion after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
